Event Description: Let's celebrate having taxes done by riding the scenic Fox River Trail from Aurora to St. Charles. We'll start at a parking lot by the new Aurora Pedestrian Bridge over the Fox River then head north on the Fox River Trail to Brown Butter Bakery and Cafe in St. Charles (https://www.brownbutterbakedgoods.com) where we'll stop for some wonderful mid-ride food (They have many Gluten Free options so for those of us that need it, we're good to eat!) After we eat, ride options are heading back to Aurora for around a 24 mile round trip, or, riding back to Geneva and hopping on the Illinois Prairie path to Wheaton, then back to Aurora for around a 41 mile round trip. Or, from St. Charles, head up to Elgin and take the Elgin branch of the IPP into Wheaton then back to Aurora for around a 49 mile round trip. The beauty of all these routes is that they are all on bike trails. The Prairie Path is crushed limestone while the Fox River Trail is paved. When you RSVP, put a note by your name how many total miles you think you'll want to ride (24, 41, or 49 miles). See the Ride With GPS routes below. Please RSVP by April 9, so we can let Brown Butter Bakery know how many of us to expect.
Hope to see you on the ride!
Event Start Location: 309 North River St. Aurora IL, 60506
RWGPS Files: Using the RWGPS graphic shown below:
- If there is more than one route associated with the event (for example, two distances), click the box at the bottom of the graphic for the route you desire to view. If there is only one route, these boxes will not be present.
- To download cuesheets and all file formats (FIT, TCX, and GPX), click the “View Full” link at the bottom of the graphic for multi-route events or the “View Full Version” link at the top of the graphic for single route events. You will then be taken to the route’s RWGPS page. Once on the RWGPS page, click “More” in the upper left corner. A drop-down menu appears allowing you to “Export as File” (which opens a box for you to select FIT, TCX, or GPX). The drop-down menu also has options to “Print Map and Cue PDF” or just “Print Cuesheet.”
- The “Download” link at the bottom of the graphic (for multi-route events) or the “Send to Device” link at the top of the graphic (for single route events) will allow you to download a route file, but this method usually defaults to TCX format if you select Garmin Edge. If you desire FIT or GPX formats, click the “View Full” link.
IMPORTANT - DO NOT DOWNLOAD FILES UNTIL A FEW DAYS BEFORE THE RIDE AS THE ROUTE MAY BE UPDATED PRIOR TO THEN !!!
NOTE: For this ride, everyone will do the 12 mile 2023-04-16_OUT route, then you CHOOSE YOUR RETURN ROUTE, using either 2023-04-16-12mi (for a total 24 miles) OR 2023-04-16_29mi (for a total of 41 miles) OR 2023-04-16_37mi (for a total of 49 miles).
